Our Anniversary Tahoe Trip

A couple weeks ago, my husband, Eli and I spent the day at Lake Tahoe to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary.  On account of today being our actual anniversary, I thought it would be nice to share the photos of our trip!

We stopped for lunch in Truckee at our favorite place, Wild Cherries and ordered their Turkey Pesto Provolone Paninis!  Due to the King fire, it was very smoky that day, so we didn’t spend too much time exploring the abundance of thrift shops like we usually do.  I was afraid that it would be smoky by the lake as well, but as we drove into Tahoe City, it was bright blue skies and fluffy white clouds!  We walked through the trees to the water and it was so sad to see how low the waterline had gotten because of the drought, but it was still so breathtaking and peaceful.

We drove around the lake to the south shore to spend time in Camp Richardson where I used to spend a lot of time when I was younger and in my acting group.  We used to perform at the Valhalla Boathouse Theater and at the Valhalla Renaissance Faire.  The kids in my group weren’t always the nicest, but I loved being there and being a part of the festival.  Since Eli and I have been together, I’ve wanted to take him to the Ren Faire but hopefully next year!

Camp Richardson has these darling cabins that you can rent for camping and I’ve always wanted to stay in one!  There is a hotel, an ice cream shop that serves the biggest waffle cones, a general store and restaurant that faces the water.  You can rent bikes or paddle boats and spend the day in the trees or the water.

I was a little sad that the ice cream shop was closed during the week in the off-season, but other than that we took lots of pictures, sat out on the beach of the lake and waded into the water.  It was so nice to spend a day together, away from the busyness of life, to reconnect and to dream about the next year and our future.

Happy Anniversary Eli!  Thank you for blessing me with the honor of being your wife and for loving me like you do. Baby, you sound good to me!
