It was beautiful day at the end of February in Northern California. A week before the big day, plans to move everything indoors were in motion as rain was in the forecast. Luckily the weatherman was wrong, because it was the perfect day for an outdoor wedding!
Larissa and Steve had decided to get married at the charming Flower Farm Inn in Loomis, Ca. One of the things I love about this venue is that they offer lots of space for the bride, the groom, as well as the bridal party to get ready on site. The main farmhouse was where the girls got ready. The guys stayed in one of the cottages to the side. They shared a first look before the ceremony to help calm their nerves and to put all the stresses of the day into perspective. It was such a beautiful and tender moment for the two of them.
Larissa and Steve said ‘I do’ under a beautiful oak tree in front of their family and friends. So many of their family traveled a long ways to make it to the wedding and I believe that is such a beautiful testimony of how much love they have for this couple. Tears of joy flowed as they were pronounced man and wife.
After family formals and bridal party photos, we spent a few minutes photographing just the two of them as the first time as husband and wife. One of the things I love about Larissa and Steve is how free they are with each other. Their love is pure and joyful and they are always making each other laugh. Being around them, you can’t help but smile!
We finished the portrait session a little early since it was starting to get a little chilly and headed to the reception. They shared their first dance as Mr. & Mrs. to Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton as everyone cheered them on. The reception was filled with happiness and dancing! Larissa’s grandmother who flew in from Croatia, made all the desserts herself and they were something to behold. I love the care that Larissa and Steve put into their wedding to make sure that their guests were well taken care of. They even had a table honoring their family members who were with them in spirit, as a constant reminder that those we love never really leave us.
Larissa and Steve, thank you for having us be a part of your special day! Wishing you every happiness as you embark on this next chapter of your journey!
Special thank you to the creative team that put together Larissa and Steve’s beautiful wedding day!
