As a photography and art major in college, I spent a lot of time in art museums and galleries. One of my favorites was the Crocker Art Museum. I loved the idea that a historic mansion housed so many beautiful paintings and the work from artists all over the world. So when Tiffany and Matt told me that they were planning their fall wedding at the Crocker, I was so excited! Matt grew up going to the Crocker Art Museum with his family, so the location held a special place in his heart as well!
It was a perfect day in Sacramento. Not too hot, and not too cold. Tiffany got ready with her bridesmaids at the historical Citizen Hotel before heading to the museum for her first look with Matt.
Matt waited at the top of the stairs at the historic mansion side of the museum in a navy suit with a classic black bow tie as Tiffany made her way up to surprise him. They were so excited to see each other as they marveled at their wedding attire and talked about the day ahead! After their first look, we walked through different galleries in the museum for their bridal portraits.
Before the ceremony, we also took the bridal party photos and the family portraits in the courtyard. Everyone was so happy and excited for the wedding and for Tiffany and Matt that made for such special memories!
The ceremony took place in the ballroom of the mansion and the guests were able to enter through the main doors that are actually closed to museum patrons. It was so nice to go through the original entrance again! The ceremony was very intimate and Tiffany walked down the aisle in her champagne Alfred Angelo dress with her dad and held back tears as she walked towards her best friend. Matt’s brother officiated the ceremony, making it even more special and personal.
I loved all the personal touches they had throughout the day. The reception was in the courtyard between the old and new parts of the museum and was decorated with white linens, white flowers, and twinkle lights. Everyone was so happy as they celebrated Tiffany and Matt’s first day as husband and wife. They eat, drank, and danced the night away!! There was even a Chinese Lion dance to help bring good luck to the newly weds!
Tiffany and Matt, thank you for trusting me to capture your best day ever! You are both so funny and kind and I love your zeal for life! I hope you had a wonderful honeymoon in Spain! Wishing you every happiness together! I am so excited for all that you have ahead of you in this new life together as husband and wife!
