#schwiication

One of the highlights of my summer was spending time in Orange County with my brother and sister in-law, Sam & Eden.  Sam declared this our “#schwiication.”  We spent 5 glorious days eating amazing food, sun bathing at Newport Beach and two of those days at the Happiest Place on Earth!  I have been trying to get better about documenting our trips with my actual camera instead of just my iPhone.  I find that wear it around my neck helps me to use it more than my phone, but it also means I instagram less, which is probably better anyways. 🙂

The first night we were there, we went to San Diego to Extraordinary Desserts which is an amazing restaurant with so many amazing desserts to choose from.  The way it worked was that you would write down your top 3 choices and then they would seat you and bring you out whatever was available at the time.  It made it a surprise as to which extraordinary dessert you were going to get! It also has such a fun atmosphere and there were all kinds of gifts you could buy including beautiful books, aprons as well as some Rifle Paper Co. goodies. My favorite!

The next day started with the most amazing doughnuts I’ve ever had from Sidecar Doughnuts! I had their S’mores and the famous Maple Bacon!  They were so light and delicious that I couldn’t believe I actually ate both of them!  After that, the boys went to the barbershop and Eden and I went grocery shopping for the perfect picnic to enjoy at Newport Beach.  It felt so amazing to be back at the ocean and to feel the sand in-between my toes!  The tide was very strong that day, so we didn’t swim as much as I had hoped to, but it was such a wonderful, peaceful way to spend the day!

The next two days we spent at Disneyland and it was so much fun to spend time there with Sam and Eden.  One of my favorite parts of going to the park with others is sharing all our favorite things with them!  The two of them had never been together and it was very special sharing this time with them.  The first day, I brought my camera and it stayed in the back pack all day, so I decided to carry it the second day and I am so glad I did!

One of my most favorite parts of this vacation was spending quality time with Sam and Eden and not only being able to share our favorite places with each other but also sharing our hearts and dreams for our futures.  We decided that vacationing with each other will be a new tradition that we share and next year will be even more exciting because their baby is due next January!

I hope you enjoyed this peek into our time together!  If you would like to see more, you can check out our photos on instagram, #schwiication 🙂
