My Instagram Workflow

If some of you have been following me on Instagram, you might have noticed that there has been some changes in my content.  I wanted to create a little variety and also get to know my followers a little better. I thought it would be nice to share about some of that here on my blog.

My Instagram account

Each day has its own theme and so I thought it would be fun to let you know what you can expect!  This change is still relatively new for me, so I am not as consistent as I would like because I still want to enjoy my everyday life and not always have to worry about what I will be posting.  However, there is a great app called Planoly that has really helped with this step!  It allows you to schedule your posts to help you save time!  The way it works is you upload your image and caption to Planoly and then schedule the date and time you want to post it.  The app doesn’t automatically post it for you, but it will send you a push notification when that day and time has arrived, and with one swipe, it uploads your photo to Instagram for you!  You do need to make sure you are logged into the account you want that photo uploaded to though.  I made that mistake once 🙂

Here is my daily plan for the week.

Mondays I have deemed “Mindful Monday” and those posts will be either motivational or thought provoking and will include a quote.  I know I can always use a little motivation especially as the week starts so I thought that would be perfect for Mondays!

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” – Steve Jobs

Tuesday I considered “Tuesday Treat Day” and I thought I would share images of sweets or wedding cakes, but then after I planned out the rest of the week I thought it would be better if it was more of a freebie day.  Tuesday’s posts will either be sneak peeks, behind the scenes or something a little personal so I can allow my followers to get to know me!  So be prepared for Tuesdays to be a surprise!

I used these beautiful Meyer Lemons to make Lemon Bars for my mother-in-law on her birthday because they are her favorite!  I love these lemons and how they can brighten a room just like a bouquet!

Wednesdays are devoted to Weddings and are following suite with #weddingwednesday.  I will be pairing a wedding image with a quote about love or marriage!  A persons wedding is so special, but the meaning behind it is so important as it is the day that launches a marriage!  So my hope is that even if you are already married and not in need of wedding inspiration, that you will be reminded of why you fell in love with your spouse and reflect on your unique relationship!

“You put your arms around me and I’m home.” – Christina Perry

Thursdays are Travel Thursday!  I love to travel and don’t get to as often as I would like, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my travel photography!  Plus, seeing as its one day until Friday, I thought it would be a nice reminder that the weekend is almost here and we can daydream together about far off places!

This photo was taken in South Lake Tahoe at Camp Richardson and it is my favorite spot around the lake!

Friday is “FUN-day!”  I know that I cannot be the only one who gets excited for Fridays so I thought what a perfect way to celebrate the weekend than with a fun and happy photo!  I love to incorporate silliness in my photo sessions, so you might see yourself in one of these posts someday 😉

I am obsessed with Disney balloons!  I think they are so bright and colorful and they make me so happy! Anything about Disneyland makes me happy 🙂

Saturdays posts will always be a part of this blog.  Last summer when I started this blog, I made a commitment to have one post every Saturday night.  These posts are mostly to highlight and share my recent work and client galleries.  There will also be posts on specials & promotions, my travels, tips & how to’s for my clients and occasionally a personal post.  After the post goes live, I will share it on Instagram using one of the photos from that weeks blog.

I used this photo from Michael & Lisa’s Engagement Session to let people know that their session was live on my blog and that they could see more here!

Sundays are a non-work day for me as it is my only day off with my husband.  So we spend the day together, attend church and prepare for the week ahead.  Sometimes you will find me on Instagram looking around and leaving comments and heart emojis but that is the extent of my work for the day.  I hope you have a day that you use as a day of rest to relax and rejuvenate!  Its something that has taken me a long time to come to terms with, but sometimes we just need to take time for ourselves 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this little peek inside my Instagram Workflow!  If you would like to follow me on IG my user name is @sarahschweyerphotography, I would love it for you to come say hi and we can be insta friends!!  You can also follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest (where I will be sharing my work and also some favorite pins! Go check it out!).
