It was the Saturday of Labor day weekend and by far the hottest day of the third heat wave of the summer. This was also the day that Sandra and Emmanuel were to be married. Rain or shine. Cold or heat. It was the day that they had been waiting for! Their wedding day!
They got ready at the Wine & Roses winery spa and hotel in Lodi, CA. After she was all ready, Sandra got into a white vintage car that drove her to the ceremony. In her beautiful ball gown, Steve Madden shoes, and cathedral veil, she arrived at Morris Chapel at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA where she attended college and would now marry her best friend. The chapel was beautiful with the stained glass and vaulted ceilings. They shared a first look at the altar before the wedding ceremony started to have a few moments just the two of them.
Sandra and Emmanuel had a traditional Spanish wedding ceremony, and even though I didn’t understand all that was spoken, you could feel the love in that room! Sandra walked down the aisle to a live piano rendition of My Heart Will Go On. I think Sandra describes the beginning of the ceremony best – “The moment I will always remember is when as I was walking down the aisle with my mom and as soon as we stopped Emmanuel was standing looking at me, so right at the moment I felt something indescribable. All I could think was about how happy I was to be marrying the love of my life and my best friend, as we were looking at each other we both cried and that’s something I will always cherish.”
The wedding reception was at the beautiful Villa Florentina in Coloma. It felt like we were at a vineyard in the countryside of Italy or Spain. A Mariachi band welcomed them into the reception where all their family and friends waited for them. Everyone cheered them on as husband and wife. They spent their first evening as a married couple eating Mexican food and spending time with the people in their lives closest to them. To top it all off, we were surrounded by beautiful florals by my friend, Mary of Foxglove and Fern!
We were able to sneak away from the wedding reception for sunset bridal portraits of just the two of them! The first set of bridal portraits we took in the olive grove. We then went up to the balcony which overlooked the venue and the surrounding hills. Both spots were perfect spots for romantic photos of just the two of them! It was the perfect end to a perfect day!
Sandra said that her favorite part of the day was knowing that she was going to become Emmanuel’s wife. Even though it was so hot, it didn’t matter because her family and friends were there to witness them join their lives together and becoming one.
Sandra and Emmanuel, you are both such kind and genuine people and you make such a wonderful couple! God has amazing things in store for you both. I am so happy to have been a part of your best day ever! I am so excited for you as you start your new life together! Wishing you every happiness and blessing!
