Wedding detail photos are such a beautiful way to remember the little things that help make your wedding day special and unique!

Planning a wedding is an exhilarating journey filled with countless decisions, each adding to the unique tapestry of your special day. One of the questions I often get from brides is about preparing for the big day, specifically regarding wedding day details. Recently, a bride asked me, “What exactly should I include in my details?” This question comes up frequently, so I decided to create this blog post to shed some light on the subject.

Your wedding day details are as unique and personal as your love story. These items capture the essence of your day and become cherished memories that you can look back on. Imagine your daughter flipping through your wedding album years from now, seeing all the little things that made your day special. What do you want her to see? Here are some ideas to get you started:

1) Florals

Your bouquet, boutonnieres, and any special flowers that hold significance.

2) Invitations

Your invitations are the first thing your guests will see about  your wedding and I’m sure a lot of thought went into them.  Be sure to include your wedding invitations and any other stationery that sets the tone for your day. Your photographer will style them with extra flowers (pro tip: ask your florist for extra stems for flat lays!).

3) Jewelry

The pieces you’ll be wearing, including your engagement ring, wedding bands, and any special jewelry or family heirlooms.

4) Shoes

Your wedding shoes, whether they’re elegant heels or comfortable flats.

5) Veil

If you’re wearing a veil, it’s a beautiful detail to capture.

6) Handbag or Clutch

The small bag you’ll be carrying, which can be a lovely addition to your photos.

7) Family Heirlooms

Any special items passed down through generations, such as a grandmother’s pearls or an embroidered hankie.

8) Vow Books

The books where you’ve written your vows, adding a personal touch to your ceremony.

9) Note To Your Future Spouse

A heartfelt letter to your partner, capturing your emotions on the day.

10) Special Mementos

Unique items like the bottle of Jack Daniel’s your dad bought before he passed, to have a toast with your groomsmen and feel his presence.

The possibilities are endless. Choose items that feel right and uniquely you.

Pro Tip:

To make things easier for your photographer, gather all your details and place them in a box. This allows your photographer to quickly find and photograph them, ensuring nothing is missed. Additionally, ask your florist to include some extra styling blooms in your order. These can be used to enhance your detail shots, tying in your wedding colors and overall aesthetic.

Your wedding details are more than just objects; they tell a story. They’re the little pieces that, when combined, paint a beautiful picture of your day. So, take some time to think about what you want to include and how you want to remember your wedding day. After all, these memories will be cherished for years to come.
